And the truth is a hammer

(written October 27, 2006)

A nailed in coffin with scrawled words on the top, to read with eyes that no longer see. A bendiction for the poor and a colorful coat that doesn't keep you warm but teaches you the value of coldness. Do you ever wake up next to me and wonder how you got there? Or lick your lips and wonder how the taste on them is mine? Salty sweet surrender is a keepsake in my heart and in my lungs. My voice screams and I cannot quiet it with whispers, though i try. I try.The devil's in the details, the god is in the rain. emptiness is nothingness and nothingness is everything and everything is god. i want to be empty. i want to shed this skin and find a new person underneath, one that is empty of god, so that i don't have to feel the pain of nothingness anymore. It is friday. rejoice in the good news of the lord, because the bad will call its time and haunt you til it's bored, hibernating until it rears up again. so rejoice in the days and the hours of contentment. pray for rain.
